LG OLED B6 4K TV (2016 Model)

The LG OLED B6 4K TV is Flat screen whereas the C6 is a Curved OLED TV.

This fantastic television is available in 55″ or 65″ sizes

Many have commented about the new OLED
first time I switched on this television and saw the picture, I knew it had to be the only television for me”

The spectacular LG OLED G6 is a flagship model “Signature” 4K HDR OLED TV that is also available with the nearly identical but slightly less expensive E6 model a second-tier 4K OLED TV from the LG company.

LG’s “more affordable” C6 and B6 OLED models are also part of the LG OLED lineup of 2016 market ready 4K TV products.

Both of these new TV sets offer up a much more classical LG OLED TV design that’s actually more in line with the look of of 2015 OLED 4K TVs from the LG brand and both these TVs come in either 55 and 65 inch models. These do come with the stunning new WebOS 3.0 smart TV platform and also offer full support and compliance with high dynamic range standards of Dolby Vision and Ultra HD Premium from the UHD Alliance. This means full Wide Color Gamut providing 10-bit color. Peak brightness of at least 540 nits, which is very impressive to see in an OLED 4K TV.

The LG B6 model is really the same as the C6 but does offer the flat rather than curved panel. There some differences between these LG B6, C6, and E6 models. The E6 and C6 do have 3D capability. All these models do have 40W Harmon Kardon speakers but the B6 and C6 do have 4 channel audio.
The B6 is the thinnest TV at 1.9 inch depth whereas the C6 is curved and therefore slightly thicker E6 is 2.2 inches.

All models do offer available Freeview Play for here in the UK.

LG is the sole producer of big-screen TVs that do utilize organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display technology. OLED uses an organic substance that glows when an electric current is introduced to it. This revolutionary material forms part of a new design approach that drastically reduces the thickness and weight of the Television.

Take control of your entertainment experience with a new level of remote control convenience which means spending less time searching and more time for enjoying. These OLED models come with a Magic Remote which can operate everything on the TV and set-top box all at the same time. This remote uses motion and now voice controls.

Those who like 3D will be a lot disappointed, as the B6 does not give this option unlike the more expensive E6 model.

Limitless Contrast

These unique pixels of the LG OLED TV can switch off completely giving perfect black and therefore limitless contrast, resulting in a more lifelike image all thanks to LG and OLED.

Self-lighting Pixel

Organic self-emitting pixels deliver picture reproduction of unrivalled contrast, colour and clarity, but as the unique nature of the design of LG OLED TV is revolutionary, the OLED itself is elegant and also incredibly thin.

This is truly innovation, only OLED pixels are real self-lighting, meaning they can switch on and off each individually. This gives a beautiful contrast range of the brightest whites and also the darkest blacks giving a picture of unrivalled depth.

How do does LG control the pixels? Well basically, each one of the eight million pixels can be controlled individually. By LG doing this, the television will perfectly balance the picture. Also we really do like the way the LG B6 balances the dark and bright scenes, without losing any of the detail from dark or the bright scene. It does not matter if the scene contains direct sunlight or really dark shadows, you can still find and pick out the tiniest of details.

Black Levels and Colour

When you are viewing a B6 alongside a 4K LED TV, the first thing you will notice is the vast and infinite black levels that the OLED TV has.

The B6 does have incredible deep pitch blacks and some of the best looking colours you will have ever seen in terms of the brilliance, depth, contrast and saturation.

Perfect Colour

Real colour and contrast perfection. The OLED pixels create what is an astonishingly accurate and wide colour range all of which is presented on the perfect black background only available from these self emitting pixels. This combination does provide the most unimaginable true to life colour reproduction you will have to see to believe.

Perfect Black

The LG B6 OLED panel’s perfect black and high peak brightness along with HDR implementation, making the B6 a very good choice for any home theatre enthusiast. The picture quality always remains very good, even when viewed at an angle and those pesky reflections are dealt with so very well.

Side Angle Viewing/Picture on Glass Feature

Another area that we always highlight is off centre viewing of contrast and color saturation. With OLED and the B6 it is perfect like it was with good plasma TVs, that is because every pixel is individually lit organically (with an electrode) so there is no backlight. On the B6, LG has gone a step further and applied the pixel directly to the back of the glass panel so there is even less layers between you and the color.

The OLED is the perfect platform for HDR (high dynamic range). When something is shown in HDR, colours and contrast are enhanced so the picture is closer to your eyes full potential. With OLED technology this is by far the best partner for the process, thanks to those contrast levels that are really unlike anything else available today. OLED and HDR is the future of television picture quality.

Dolby Vision, Why Does It Matter?

LG OLED HDR supports Dolby Vision, which does ensure brighter and much sharper images are now delivered with better contrast and strikingly improved colours. With a wave of new video titles available in Dolby Vision, you can always be sure that your entertainment is being viewed the way it should be seen.

Certification (ULTRA HD PREMIUM)

The ULTRA HD PREMIUM certification ensures that the picture and audio quality of the television is always of the highest standard. OLED TV complements this technology, providing the perfect vessel for you to view ULTRA HD Premium TV.

Magic Mobile Connection

Magic Mobile Connection allows your viewers to enjoy smartphone content on their TV with great ease. Additionally, using just Wi-Fi connections, they can really enjoy their music and video apps all on the big screen

Remote Control

LG calls it’s remote control a “magic remote” because you don’t even need to hold the remote in your hand to use it. You can just use your voice commands for certain functions and the LG OLED B6 does it for you. That’s right, this LG TV has voice recognition. Changing the channel or the volume, all with your voice. It can’t get much cooler than that.

Magic Zoom

Magic Zoom can enlarge your live screens while viewers are watching. By depressing the Zoom key there on the remote control, the scene will be enlarged enabling viewers to catch the detail.

Blade Slim

The LG OLED B6 has an impressive very thin screen, with metallic finished back and clear stand. Unlike the E6 model, there is no large sound bar but instead speakers are built into the main body of the television.
The overall thickness of the screen has been successfully reduced because it has no backlighting resulting in this extremely thin panel making it possible to attach to the wall even more closely. This screen can always perfectly match with home décor due to this cutting edge technology.

The TV’s stand has quite a small footprint but still feels very stable. The stand is made of clear plastic, similar to the EG9600.

The footprint of the 55″ TV stand: 22″ x 8.7″

Yes you can Wall Mount the OLED using Vesa 300×200 kit. (If wall mounted, the stand can be removed but you may find inputs difficult to access)

The borders which are very thin and feature a metallic edge are 0.43″ (1.1 cm)

Maximum thickness : 1.77″ (4.5 cm)
The max thickness measured at the bottom half of the TV. The side profile, looks very similar to the E6. However unlike the E6 model, there is nothing protruding from the back of the TV so it is thinner and appears more flush with the wall.

Audio/Sound designed by Harman/Kardon

Audio engineered by the experts. With years of experience in the best high-quality sound Harman/Kardon are really the perfect partner have designed your speaker system. So now you can enjoy a whole new level of audio immersion.

These B6 and C6 models both having 40Watts output matching the E6, but without the additional sound bar. Unlike the E6, there is no large sound bar instead speakers are built into the main body of the TV. The B6 and C6 models have 4 channel output that far outpaces most other TVs on the market in terms of volume, voice clarity, and detail all without getting too tinny.

Passive 3D

Not available on the B6 model but it is available on the C6. Excellent 3D quality using 4K resolution and an OLED panel, sets the new standard for performance. This is the best quality 3D experience we have seen. Even though 3D is fading in popularity and focus, it’s always a nice feature to have.
